lemon for dark circlesAs we age, the skin beneath our eyes becomes thin, allowing the blue veins underneath to show through as dark, shadowy circles. Lack of sleep, poor diet, and long hours in front of computer screens also contribute to dark circles.

But there are natural, affordable and effective home remedies that are able to get rid of dark under-eye circles once and for all. A great example is lemon juice. We’re about to tell you exactly how to use it and why it works. Let’s get started!

How Lemon Juice Erases Dark Circles?

  • Lemon juice has natural bleaching properties that lighten skin with regular use over time.
  • The vitamin C in lemon juice strengthens the immune system and the skin cells around the eyes.
  • Lemon juice tightens blood vessels to reduce swelling and prevent the accumulation of fluids.
  • Lemon juice moisturizes.
  • Lemon juice is antiseptic and antibacterial. It fights germs that cause illness and allergies, which also contribute to dark circles.
  • Lemon juice is an astringent. It keeps skin smooth and wrinkle-free.
  • The citric acid in lemon juice detoxifies pores and removes dead skin cells.
  • Lemon juice contains vitamin B, calcium, proteins, riboflavin, phosphorus, carbohydrates, and magnesium, all of which keep skin healthy.

Hi everyone, this is Rajee!

I live the beautiful city of Baltimore, where my husband works.

I’m from India. I have been visiting India on and off for past few years and my mom was an inspiration for me to start this site. She has a wealth of knowledge on home remedies for a large number of health problems, and we grew up in an environment where frequent visits to the doctor just wasn’t logistically or financially feasible.

Despite this, she managed to raise a family of healthy kids, and my goal here at Home Remedies for Life is to pass on some of her knowledge of natural remedies.

Another remedy using cucumber is, to take two equal quantities of cucumber juice and lemon juice. Pour them into a small bowl. Take a cotton ball and dip it into the juice mixture. Place these on the dark circles and leave it on for 15 minutes. Wash it off with normal water and repeat this everyday for a week. You will see the dark circles and puffiness of the eyes vanish!

Repeat the process once daily. It is difficult to tell whether the dark circles can be reduced within 7 days as we don’t know the skin type and damage level under the eyes. However, you should be observing a improvement within 2 weeks.
