Use Olive Oil to Reduce Stubborn Stretch Marks (14 Methods)

Olive Marks Oil For Stretch marksStretch marks – a dreadful and annoying problem for many of us. Usually, they appear post pregnancy or when your body loses or gains weight suddenly. Why? Because…

The collagen connecting the skin tissues weakens when the skin is stretched. This damages the normal skin cell production which results in the appearance of parallel lines.

Many dermatologists believe that stretch marks can be diminished through various treatments but natural remedies are considered to be safe.

Though you cannot reduce them in a day or two, with some patience and continuous application of olive oil you can observe the improvement.

Wondering how olive oil helps to diminish stretch marks?

Listed are the reasons…

  • Vitamin E, phytosterols and polyphenols in it improve collagen production and skin elasticity.
  • Olive oil locks moisture in the skin cells.
  • The essential nutrients and antioxidants heal the damaged skin cells.
  • It improves blood circulation in the tissues of skin.
  • The antioxidants present in it reduce the scars and make the skin soft and supple.
  • It acts as a lubricant to slow down the skin expansion and itchiness caused during pregnancy.

Listed are methods you can try and combat the problem of stretch marks. Be a little patient and continue repeating the methods regularly to achieve the results.

1. Olive Oil

  • Apply lukewarm olive oil on the stretch marks.

Hi everyone, this is Rajee!

I live the beautiful city of Baltimore, where my husband works.

I’m from India. I have been visiting India on and off for past few years and my mom was an inspiration for me to start this site. She has a wealth of knowledge on home remedies for a large number of health problems, and we grew up in an environment where frequent visits to the doctor just wasn’t logistically or financially feasible.

Despite this, she managed to raise a family of healthy kids, and my goal here at Home Remedies for Life is to pass on some of her knowledge of natural remedies.

Is it ok to use olive oil everyday as a skin lotion? If yes, how long will it take for me to start seeing results?

Yes, you can apply olive oil as a skin lotion every day. Stretch marks are very stubborn so it may some time to lighten them. It is difficult to tell the specified time as it depends on the level of skin damage. So, try the application regularly without fail and apart from that exfoliate the affected area regularly.
