16 DIY Natural Ways to Whiten Teeth

Teeth Whitening Home Remedies Everyone wants a shining set of sparkling white teeth. However recently, yellow teeth have become a common problem, which can lead to serious confidence problems. The home remedies that follow will help to restore your teeth back to their former whiteness.

It is best if you know the cause of the problem, from genetics, diet, tobacco, intake of excess fluoride level in water, taking certain treatments, ageing and poor oral health. Taking high doses of antibiotics, infections, climatic conditions and improper metabolism can also contribut. Generally a tooth is made of 4 tissues – enamel is the strong white covering that protects the tooth and dentin supports the enamel. Both play an important role in color.

Some symptoms include: teeth discoloration, worn away enamel, yellow tints and pits on teeth, foul smell from the mouth, etc. Certain foods and drinks like tea, coffee, etc. will stain the enamel and break down this enamel and after time. If this enamel breaks down then it shows the yellow dentin underneath.

I live the beautiful city of Baltimore, where my husband works.

I’m from India. I have been visiting India on and off for past few years and my mom was an inspiration for me to start this site. She has a wealth of knowledge on home remedies for a large number of health problems, and we grew up in an environment where frequent visits to the doctor just wasn’t logistically or financially feasible.

Despite this, she managed to raise a family of healthy kids, and my goal here at Home Remedies for Life is to pass on some of her knowledge of natural remedies.

Our teeth are white in colour because of the tooth enamel. If the tooth enamel is completely eroded it is impossible to get back the white colour of your tooth. The yellow colour is the just the dentin (layer beneath of the tooth enamel). If tooth enamel didn’t erode completely, the above mentioned remedies will helpful to cover up the dentin showing through.
